Our Story

No veteran should have to rebuild their life in recovery alone.

From recovery to rebuilding community.

The Remington Willow Foundation (RWF) supports military veterans and their loved ones as they navigate the journey of recovery.

Named in honor of Remington Willow, the daughter of our founder, the foundation represents hope, renewal, and the power of family. RWF was created from lived experience with military service, substance use recovery, and mental health challenges, and from witnessing how powerful the right community, support, and resources can be when someone is rebuilding their life.

Our founder’s own recovery journey began on February 20, 2022, a turning point that inspired the creation of RWF and a commitment to helping other veterans rediscover stability, connection, and purpose.

At the heart of our work is the belief that lasting recovery is strengthened by recovery capital, the resources and relationships that help people rebuild their lives. We focus on strengthening three forms of recovery capital:

Social – community, belonging, and peer support that reduce isolation.
Emotional – mental wellness, mindfulness, and resilience that support healing.
Practical – housing, employment, transportation, and access to essential resources.

Together, these pillars help veterans rebuild stability, restore connection, and move forward with dignity and purpose.

“Recovery happens when veterans have the community, resources, and purpose needed to rebuild their lives.”

This belief continues to guide the work of the foundation and inspired the vision for The Willow, a veteran-centered recovery residence and community hub designed to bring these principles to life.

Current Services

Recreational Therapy

Recreational therapy plays a central role in the recovery model at RWF. Activities such as golf, climbing, disc golf, and yoga provide veterans with opportunities to improve both physical and emotional well-being while strengthening relationships with others in recovery.

These experiences promote mindfulness, reduce stress, and create opportunities for veterans to rediscover confidence, connection, and joy.

Each round of golf, climb, or yoga session becomes a step toward restoring purpose and reinforcing the habits that support long-term recovery.

Golf Recovery Program

As part of our recreational therapy initiatives, The Remington Willow Foundation develops partnerships that expand access to golf-based wellness programs for veterans.

Beginning in 2026, RWF will collaborate with Tucson Country Club in Arizona to introduce a structured golf recovery and training program that combines recreation, mentorship, and peer support.

Instruction for the program will be led by Seth Glasco, Director of Instruction at Tucson Country Club and founder of the Patriot Golf Foundation.

With more than three decades of experience teaching the game, Seth has coached and performed swing analysis for players competing on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, Champions Tour, and European Senior Tour, including a major champion. He previously served with the internationally recognized Golf Digest Instruction Schools and was selected by Jack Nicklaus and Jim Flick to teach in the original Nicklaus/Flick Golf Schools. As Jack Nicklaus once said:

"Golf is a game, and a game is meant to be fun. No one makes learning the game more fun than Seth Glasco."

Through this partnership, veterans gain access to high-level instruction and a supportive environment where discipline, patience, and confidence can grow alongside recovery.

Future Initiative

The Willow

A veteran-centered recovery residence designed to rebuild lives through housing, wellness, and community.

The Willow will serve as the flagship recovery residence and community hub of The Remington Willow Foundation.

Designed specifically for veterans in recovery, The Willow will provide stable housing alongside wellness-focused programming that helps residents rebuild the social, emotional, and practical foundations needed for long-term recovery.

Residents will live in a structured sober living environment while also having access to on-site programming that strengthens recovery capital and promotes independence.

Planned programming includes:

• yoga and wellness activities
• peer support gatherings
• recreational therapy including golf and climbing
• mentorship and leadership development
• workshops and life skills training
• coaching, case management, and access to community resources

By combining stable housing with community-based wellness programming, The Willow is designed to demonstrate how environment, accountability, and connection can work together to support long-term recovery for veterans and their families.

Over time, the model developed through The Willow will serve as a foundation for expanding veteran-centered recovery housing and support programs across Oklahoma and beyond.

Why We Call It The Willow

The name The Willow carries deep personal meaning for the foundation and its mission. The Remington Willow Foundation was named after our founder’s daughter, Remington Willow, as a reminder that recovery is ultimately about restoring family, connection, and purpose.

The symbolism of the willow tree reflects the spirit of recovery itself. Willow trees are known for their resilience, able to bend through storms while continuing to grow.

The meaning became even more personal when our founder proposed to his wife, Ilona, beneath a willow tree, a moment that came to symbolize commitment, renewal, and the belief that even after difficult seasons, growth is still possible.

When The Willow recovery residence is established, a willow tree will be planted on the property as a living reminder of the strength, resilience, and hope that recovery can bring.
